New York,May 17 (ANI): Former Pakistan President General Pervez Musharraf has said that the people of the country do not support the incumbent President Asif Ali Zardari over the idea of announcing an 'all out' war against the Taliban in the Swat Valley.
In an interview with the CNN, Musharraf claimed that only 19 percent of the Pakistanis supported Zardari to fight the Taliban.
"Democratically, he's elected by two-thirds. And these are the people who are the representatives of the same people you're talking of 19 per cent in favor. So, there's a dichotomy. You can analyze it yourself," Musharraf said.
Eyeing a return to power once again, Musharraf said he would run for office if the law permits, the Dawn reports.
He said there is an immediate need for the country to thwart the threats such as the growing political and martial strength of the Taliban. (ANI)
