Maya blames Muslim community for BSP's failure

Lucknow, May 17: The Congress' sweep in Uttar Pradesh over BSP seems to have not only shocked the country, it has taken Mayawati by such a surprise that she came out on Saturday, May 16 to blame the Muslims for the party's loss.

Claiming the muslims were the reason for BSP's poor show in Uttar pradesh, BSP supremo said, "Muslims were confused and divided and this confusion was created by the opposition as a part of its joint strategy against BSP."

She further said that this trend was inflicted upon the community by SP and the Congress. She accused the opposition of deliberately trying to create an impression among the voters of her state that she will join the BJP-led NDA after the elections.

She explained that the Muslims voted tactically by voting for those who are considered formidable against the Hindutva-driven BJP.
