Azam Khan resigns from SP's parliamentary board

New Delhi, May 17: The senior leader of Samajwadi Party (SP), Azam Khan on Sunday, May 17 resigned as the party's general secretary and from its Parliamentary Board.

Azam Khan's moves comes after Jayapradha, a member of SP won the elections in Rampur on Saturday, May 16.

Party sources said that Khan's resignation was expected as the Parliamentary Board meeting was to decide about the possible disciplinary action to be taken against Khan for allegedly launching a cheap campaign against Jayapradha.They have also revealed that Khan has not been attending any of the board meetings in the last six months.

Azam Khan was involved in fights with various leaders. He fought with Amar Singh on Jayaprada's candidature from Rampur and with Kalyan Singh on the issue of party leadership.
