Khorabar (Uttar Pradesh), May 15 (ANI): Strains of chicken pox have broken out in the Khorabar village of Uttar Pradesh.
The outbreak of disease was first reported in the middle of March and spread fast in the following months.
"Chicken pox has spread fast in our village. To prevent this, we are keeping our homes and village clean. We want the government to help us," said Amarendra, a resident.
Almost every household in the village has at least two to three members suffering from chicken pox. It is a highly contagious strain that spreads through direct or indirect contact.
"This is viral disease and not bacterial. It spreads and grows in the summer season. It further spreads if the one who is affected sneezes or coughs. A close contact with the patient transfers the disease," said RN Mishra, Chief Medical Officer.
He also added, the infected person should be kept isolated from others and the direct contact with patient should be avoided.
Chicken pox causes a red, itchy rash on the skin that usually appears on the abdomen, back face, and later spreads to almost all over body, including the scalp, mouth, nose, ears, and genitals. (ANI)
