Islamabad May 14: The second in-charge of terrorist outfit al-Qaeda, Ayman al-Zawahiri, is hiding near Quetta in Pakistan. The US which is closely tracking his movement but failed to pin him down for a missile strike.
Pakistan Intelligence sources claims that Zawahiri roams openly and with impunity in the border regions of Afghanistan and Pakistan. Though CIA and Intelligence agencies are familiar with the areas where the Osama's second-in-aid roam around they could not track Zawahiri.
al-Zawahiri was identified in the North Waziristan Agency of Pakistan in June 2008 where he conducted high-level meetings. But continuous US drone attacks later forced him moved to Baluchistan. It is said that he hides in plain sight.
The al-Qaeda leader has given up the trappings of a high-value target and dresses in the local attires. However he does not trust locals and is protected by a security force of trusted Egyptians.
Pakistani intelligence agencies have shared with the CIA their knowledge of al-Zawahiri's location in the Quetta suburbs. But the second most wanted terrorist is still roaming free.
