Lahore, May 13 (ANI): Worried by reports of conflicts and the existence of two factions within the team, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has hired a psychologist to help strengthen the squad's mental resolve ahead of the ICC Twenty20 World Cup.
The PCB is organizing a conditioning camp in the hill resort of Bhurban from tomorrow (Thurday), where the newly appointed psychologist, Dr Maqbool Babri, would work with the team, The Daily Times reports.
"He will hold one-on-one sessions with the players and also conduct group therapy," coach Intikhab Alam said.
Alam said the camp would help the players to perform better in pressure situation and improve their ability, as the Twenty20 version of the game requires cricketers to give their hundred percent even toughest conditions.
"I think sometimes it is the fear of failing that makes a sportsman crack under pressure. The idea is to improve the self-belief in our players so they can perform to their optimum abilities," Alam added. (ANI)
