Amanda Beard's double good news: married and pregnant

Washington, May 13 (ANI): After winning seven Olympic medals in 2008 and making it to the glossy pages of magazines like Playboy and People, Amanda Beard has double good news to share - she has got married and is expecting a baby soon.

In an interview, the swimmer has revealed that she got married to photographer Sacha Brown, 34, on Wakatobi, an archipelago in the Banda Sea off southeastern Indonesia.

"It was absolutely perfect. It was stress-free, and super low-key," People magazine quoted her as saying.

The couple said "I do" in a brief sunset ceremony on a private beach at their resort, and presiding over the nuptials was a local elder.

The only witnesses to their marriage were villagers from the area, none of whom spoke English.And now, Beard, 27, is nearly five-and-a-half months pregnant with her first baby-a boy-due to arrive in September.

"I'm starting to look pregnant," said the newlywed.

However, Beard is already planning to get back in the water about half a year after she gives birth, and is aiming to compete in the 2012 Olympics.

Beard, who met Brown on a photo shoot and got engaged on Christmas Day, competed in four straight Olympic Games, starting when she was 14 in 1996 through last summer's Olympics in Beijing. (ANI)
