Media can air exit polls after 5 PM on May 13: ECI
New Delhi, May 12: The Election Commission of India (ECI) has allowed the media to broadcast exit polls after the fifth and the final phase of polling is completed on May 13 after 5 PM.
Deputy Election Commissioner R. Balakrishnan on Monday, May 11 said "Channels are free to air exit polls after the elections are over."
Earlier, ECI had banned broadcasting or publishing of exit and opinion polls while the elections were in progress on the grounds of causing prejudice in the voters.
