Trichy (Tami Nadu) / New Delhi, May 10 (ANI): As the fifth and last phase of the parliamentary elections is round the corner, the Communist leaders are giving different indications over government formation at the Centre.

Senior CPI (M) leader and politburo member Sitaram Yechury on Sunday said that all ruling coalitions are formed only after the polls.

"Why are they (Congress and BJP) so worried now? In 2009 also, after the elections, new combination, alternative secular government will be formed. And this is surprising because both the Congress and BJP both formed the combination after the elections," said Sitaram Yechury in Trichy.

Meanwhile, Communist Party of India (CPI)'s General Secretary A. B. Bardhan said that the Left Front would sit in the opposition if it fails to form the government.

"We will sit in the opposition. If the Left Front doesn't form the government, we will sit in the opposition," said A B Bardhan of the Communist Party of India in the national capital.

Communist Party of India (Marxist) under the leadership of its President Prakash Karat formed 'Third Front' ahead of the ongoing Lok Sabha polls claiming to form a non-Congress-led, non-BJP-led government at the Centre.

The fifth and last phase of the ongoing LS elections will witness polls on May 13 and the counting of all votes will take place on May 16. (ANI)
