New York, May 7 (ANI): Ponzie king Bernie Madoff's family crisscrossed the globe, plucking up expensive trinkets and swindled investors with the tab, new court papers reveal.
More than 100 pages of corporate credit card receipts give the most detailed accounting to date of the lavish lifestyle enjoyed by Madoff, his wife, Ruth, and their closest family members, reports the New York Daily News.
In January 2008, Ruth Madoff, her sons and other relatives racked up 100,000 dollars in charges, the American Express bills show. She spent nearly 30,000 dollars that month, including 400 dollars at Tiffany's.
Two days later she wrote a 10, 000 dollars check to the 92nd Street Y before jetting off to Paris, where she went on a 2,000 dollars shopping spree at Giorgio Armani.
Madoff's brother Peter spent more than 3,000 dollars on airfare so he and his wife, Marion, could fly from Israel to Milan, Italy. And sons Andrew and Mark Madoff racked up thousands in skiing mecca, Jackson Hole, Wyoming.
Customer cash went to pay housekeepers, boat captains, private jet shares and country club memberships, the papers also reveal. (ANI)
