Encounter specialist Pradeep Sharma reinstated
Mumbai, May 7: Pradeep Sharma, the encounter specialist who was dismissed for his alleged links with the underworld was reinstated on Thursday, May 7.
Maharashtra administrative tribunal has asked the Maharashtra government to reinstate him with immediate effect and with back wages. Court also ordered that his dismissal should not count in his career records. He was dismissed in Aug 2008 for his reported links with underworld, including don Dawood Ibrahim.
Sharma who joined in Mumbai police in 1983 as a sub-inspector later earned a notorious reputation of being Mumbai police's 'Dirty Harry'. He has about 112 'encounter killings' to his credit. Sharma also alleged amassed up to Rs 3,000 crore in illegal wealth.
