London, May 5 (ANI): Wayne Rooney has been warned that he faces the heartbreak of missing a Champions League final.
The firebrand Manchester United striker is just one booking away from a ban for the big game in Rome on May 27.
Rooney, 23, starts against Arsenal in the second leg of the semi-final at the Emirates tonight with United leading 1-0.
Man U boss Alex Ferguson said: "He knows the circumstances. He is a mature young man. He understands it perfectly well. He needs to stay disciplined and most of the time he is that way. I don't have to spell it out to him."
Fergie added: "Obviously if a player steps out of line, there are definitely no excuses.
"He understands the seriousness of a player getting a booking and missing the final because of that," Fergie said. (ANI)
