One killed, seven wounded in Kohat blast
Peshawar, Apr. 30 (ANI): At least one person was killed and seven were wounded in a roadside blast near the garrison town of Kohat on Thursday.
The blast took place as Shiite Muslims were passing by in a mini-bus.
Police said the incident could be sectarian related, as Shiites account for around 20 per cent of Pakistan's 160 million strong population.
Northwest Pakistan is beset with militant violence led by Taliban fighters who fled over the border following the US-led invasion of Afghanistan.
Kohat is a key base for Pakistani troops battling Al-Qaeda and Taliban militants in the semi-autonomous tribal districts on the border with war-torn Afghanistan. (ANI)
