'Q' case: CBI asks time, hearing adjourned to sept

New Delhi, Apr 30: The case against the Italian Businessman Ottavio Quattrochi concerning the Bofors scandal has been adjourned to Sep 8 by a Delhi Court after CBI asked for more time on the case.

Earlier the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has filed a status report revoking of the red corner notice against Quattrochi seeking two months to consider its options.

CBI counsel Additional Solicitor General P P Malhotra informed that the attempts to extradite the accused from Argentina have failed. And said that CBI was keeping all options open therefore seeking two months time for the same.

Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Kaveri Baweja adjourned the Bofors Payoff case's hearing to Sep 8.

The Magistrate's order deferring the case said, "An application filed on behalf of CBI seeks period of two months to decide further course of action in the matter".
