Nadal wins Barcelona Open for fifth time

Barcelona, Apr 27: Beating Spanish compariot David Ferrer 6-2, 7-5 in the final of the Barcelona Open, Rafael Nadal won his fifth successive Barcelona Open title on Sunday, Apr 26.

The World No, 1 took a strong lead in the first set. In the second set Ferrer tried to fight off Nadal's powerful ground strokes. Rafael successfully broke Ferrer on the 11th game, stealing the title a game later.

Winning the Conde de Godo trophy along with 286,000 Euros Nadal said, "This is much more than a dream for me."

He further said, "I never could have imagined I'd be here winning for a fifth time. Congratulations to David. Even though it was not possible for him today he played a great tournament."

This win comes after Nadal won his fifth Monte Carlo title last Sunday, Apr 19. Next, Nadal will be playing to win back his title in The French Open in Paris.
