London, Apr.27 (ANI): Lewis Hamilton has said he considered quitting Formula One over the criticism he received after being found guilty of lying to race stewards.
The world champion - who finished fourth in yesterday's Bahrain Grand Prix won by Jenson Button - admitted: "I wasn't 100 per cent sure I wanted to be here for the next five years. There was so much going on. Do I want to be in the limelight with people slating me? ccording to The Sun, Hamilton, who has a 75 million pound contract with McLaren, is expected to escape any punishment when the team appears before the World Motor Sport Council in Paris on Wednesday.
He was forced to make a humiliating apology after he was disqualified from the Australian GP for giving a misleading statement along with sacked sporting director Dave Ryan.
McLaren boss Ron Dennis has also since stood down. (ANI)
