New Delhi, Apr 26: Arun Shourie, the Bharatiya Janata Party general secretary said that Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi was apt to become future Prime Ministerial candidate after the present aspirant, the octogenarian LK Advani.

"Gujarat under the leadership of Modi has emerged as a role model for India and we will be happy if Modi gets the top job some day," Jaitley told media. When asked why BJP was talking of next prime ministerial candidate after Advani, Shourie said, "There is nothing 'now' about it. If the media asks a question... I will be happy if Narendra bhai becomes the prime minister some day. Like Shourie, Arun Jaitley too pitched for Narendra Modi as PM. He said he and BJP workers will be happy if Modi became the PM after Advani.

As the Modi-for-PM chant is gaining strength in the inner circles of BJP, it is bound to upset other leaders including those who are loyal to the official faction.
