Mumbai, Apr 25: Lata Mangeskar presented the awards for those who fought against last year's Mumbai terror attacks on Friday, Apr 24.
The awards were presented at a programme organised in memory of Lata Mangeshkar's father, actor-singer Dinanath Mangeshkar, on his 67th death anniversary.
Mangeshkar while addressing the gathering said that she wants to sing till the last breath of her life.
"Please don't call me old. I don't want to get old. Till the time I am alive, I want to sing. I would try that I sing well and everyone like it. You have blessed me so much that I am singing till now and wish to sing further as well. There's nothing in my life apart from singing. Singing is my life," she said.
Mangeshkar also presented the awards to lyrist Javed Akhtar and Bollywood actor Paresh Rawal for their contribution to Indian cinema.
Akhtar expressed happiness on receiving the award from the legendary singer.
