Police officials said that Anil who was to fly out of Mumbai on Friday, Apr 24 morning had send the chopper for service on Wednesday, Apr 22. When the technician from the Airwork Private Ltd, the workshop which maintain the chopper went to take the helicopter inside the workshop, he discovered that the fuel tank cap was loosely fitted.
After that a thorough check-up, the technicians found mud and pebbles in the fuel tank of the chopper. Pebbles and sand could have clogged the fuel passage and can be dangerous and can even lead to mid air explosion or even crash.
Immediately a complaint was lodged by the workshop team with the Airport under section 440 of the Indian Penal Code for committing 'mischief with intent to cause hurt or death'.
