Arshavin pledges to be an Arsenal legend

By Super Admin

London, Apr.23 (ANI): Russian soccer star Andrey Arshavin has pledged to be an Arsenal legend after his four-goal Anfield super show.

He insists there is more to come and he will not go the way of Julio Baptista, the on-loan Brazilian who scored four at Anfield in the Carling Cup two years ago yet failed to convince manager Arsene Wenger he belonged in a Gunners shirt.

Instead Arshavin, 27, wants to follow in the footsteps of Arsenal legends Cliff Bastin, Ian Wright and Thierry Henry.

Arshavin, who signed for 16.9 million pounds from Zenit St Petersburg in January, had never previously bagged four in a match.

"I was told Baptista scored four at Liverpool but after that he finished playing for Arsenal. I want to keep playing after this! It was unbelievable football but it is England! In my career I've scored two hat tricks but never four in a game.

It just happens sometimes that every shot flies into the target," The Sun quoted Arshavin, as saying.Arshavin revealed he would be celebrating with a family trip to London Zoo, certainly will not get carried away with his feat and added: "My wife will be quick to put me in my place." (ANI)
