Bettiah, Apr 22: In a raid carried out by a team of police officials on the Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) candidate, Prakash Jha's office has revealed that Jha held about ten lakhs in cash which was going to be distributed among the voters.
About 53 people present in the office are taken into custody. An FIR has been lodged against Mr. Jha and he may be arrested if he does not get anticipatory bail. The LJP candidate who is also a Bollywood filmmaker, has alleged political vendetta behind the incident.
Mr. Jha was contesting from Bettiah Parliamentary constituency. Bihar will be seeing the second phase of its elections on Thursday, Apr 23.
