Nokia sells mobile broadcast unit to Wipro
Helsinki, Apr 21: Nokia has confirmed on Tuesday, Apr 21 that it has sold its enterprise mobile TV unit to Wipro.
Nokia, the world's largest mobile phone maker sold its mobile solutions broadcast unit comprising of around 40 employees who were primarily software and hardware developers to the India-based corporation Wipro.
"We wanted to focus on the consumer side of things, the mobile TV client in the devices, rather than on the business-to-business side," said a Nokia spokesman.
Few years ago, it seemed like the mobile television and on-demand video would be a big hit in the mobile phones market, but it proved to be otherwise.
