Ferguson dismisses talks of Ronaldo moving to Real Madrid

By Super Admin

London, Apr 20 (ANI): Sir Alex Ferguson has labelled former Real Madrid president Ramon Calderon "a dinosaur", and dismissed further Spanish talk of his ace striker Cristiano Ronaldo moving there in the summer.

Calderon has been trying to stir things up over the Portuguese winger's future. He told a French radio station that all the groundwork had been completed for Real Madrid "to sign one of the best players in the world."

The station was briefed that Calderon was referring to Ronaldo, who Real Madrid pursued relentlessly throughout last summer, forcing United to reject a world record 60 million pound bid.

Florentino Perez, the man behind the club's Galactico period, is expected to return as president in June, after Calderon resigned in January following allegations of vote rigging.

Ferguson who insisted at the height of the fall-out with Real Madrid over Ronaldo that he wouldn't "sell the club a virus", said of Calderon's latest outburst: "All the talk about Cristiano was coming from Calderon. He is a dinosaur. He has been buried.

"He is just trying to cause trouble, isn't he? He is trying to cause trouble for the new president. It's him saying, 'It's up to you to deliver now'.

"You are never going to stop this game. It's going on and on. But we're happy with our end of things with Cristiano," the Daily Express quoted Ferguson, as saying.

Ferguson has also revealed that Ronaldo's long-time agent Jorge Mendes is very much onside with United concerning the player's future. (ANI)
