Bhubaneshwar, Apr 13: The security forces on Monday, Apr 13 successfully cleared out the naxals who had seized the NALCO's bauxite mine in Orissa.

About 200 Naxalites attacked the Pachpatmali mine at Damonjodi in Koraput district on Sunday, Apr 12. After a nine-hour long gun battle the mine was cleared out.

In the operation eight Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel have been killed, and 13 injured. Officials have reported that four Naxals were killed too.

However, the speculations that Naxals may have looted few weapons from the CISF has become a cause of concern.

Nearly 100 workers who were trapped inside the mine are safe. Officials say that the Maoists may have targeted the mine for the explosives stored there.
