Ottawa (Ohio), Apr. 12 (ANI): F C Porto skipper Lucho Gonzalez has warned Manchester United that his team expected to beat Manchester United on Wednesday.
The Portuguese club stunned Alex Ferguson's men by outplaying them in a 2-2 draw at Old Trafford.
"The atmosphere will be enormous in the Estadio do Dragao so the team cannot fail. It would be a moral tragedy and a huge blow not to finish off United after the exhibition we put on at Old Trafford but we can do it," news of the world quoted Gonzalez, as saying.
"It is not easy to silence United's fans but we did that from the beginning until the end. In fact, I think the tie was unfair, as we deserved to win. If we knock out the holders we can even aim to win the title," he added.Gonzalez, however, surmised that United under-estimated Porto last Tuesday but won't repeat the mistake.
"Carlos Tevez told me it had been more difficult than they thought. We have a slight advantage for the second leg and have to make the most of it," he said.
The Argentine footie acknowledged that United had some of the best stars, but that would not dampen his team's spirits.
"We know they have great players and that Cristiano Ronaldo is a big star - but even stars can be beaten," he said. (ANI)
