Security threat: US embassy shut down in Pak
Islamabad, Apr 10: Due to the 'heightened security' threat in Pakistan the US embassy will freeze the consular services from Friday, Apr 10 .
The spokesperson, Lou Fintor said that it was due to the 'heightened security' in the federal capital this decision was taken. The increasing influence of Taliban in the country and the frequent blasts in Islamabad over the past few months has prompted the officials to take this decision.
Fintor added, emergency services will be available to the US citizens. But the regular consular services, such as visa processing for Pakistani nationals, will not be available.
Other than this majority of the International donor organizations will also stop operations. Media reports suggest that the US government has warned its citizen to be cautious when in Pakistan and has directed them not to travel and stay there unnecessarily
