Lalu clarifies his controversial statement made against Varun Gandhi
Garwah (Jharkhand), Apr 7 (ANI): Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief and Union Minister Lalu Prasad on Tuesday sought to clarify his controversial statement made against Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Varun Gandhi, saying it was taken out of context.
"What I meant was crushing him under the roller of law had I been the home minister," Prasad told reporters here.
Addressing an election meeting in Bihar's Kishanganj on Monday, Lalu Yadav had said, "Had I been the country's Home Minister, I would have crushed Varun Gandhi under a roller and destroyed him without caring for the consequences of his hate speech against Muslims".
Later, the Kishanganj District administration filed its complaint against Prasad under the People's Representation Act this morning.
Prasad termed the BJP a communal outfit, saying the saffron party was out to destroy the country's social fabric.
"Advani can never become the Prime Minister. Mulayam Singh, Ram Vilas Paswan and I have joined hands to stop the communal forces from coming to power," he added. (ANI)
