London, Apr 3 (ANI): The French chef, who will cook Nato lunch for Nicolas Sarkozy and Barack Obama, has said that Brit cook Jamie Oliver's palatable dishes are no match to the French cuisine, which he described as the "most exceptional in the world".

When asked about Oliver's culinary talent, Emile Jung, who runs the celebrated Michelin two-starred restaurant, Le Crocodile, in Strasbourg, France, admitted that he had heard about Britain's best-loved chef.

"The British cook? Ah yes, I've heard of him," the Telegraph quoted Jung as saying.

"I'm sure he's very good, and has good products and good technique, and that if he got where he has he must have talent and spontaneity.

"However, French cuisine is the most exceptional: we have the best technique, the best traditions, the best memories, because to do good cuisine you need a (gastronomic) heritage.

"Other cuisines just don't have this complementarity of wine, which creates that wonderful French complexity, that exultant savour - plus all our tradition and knowledge - you can't replace that," he added.

Jung will take care of the food at the first bilateral meeting - over lunch - between Sarkozy and Obama, before the Nato summit on April 4, which will mark the 60th anniversary of the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation.

The lunch will take place in the Chateau des Rohan-an 18th century castle next to Strasbourg Cathedral.

Jung said that he was "pretty sure" that Michelle Obama and Carla Bruni-Sarkozy, the first ladies, would also attend the lunch." (ANI)
