Lahore seige ends; 4 terrorists killed
Lahore, Mar 30: After 9 long hours of fierce battle, the Lahore siege ended. Media reports suggest that Pak rangers killed 4 terrorists and caught 1 alive. He is believed to be an Afghan national. However, Rehman Malik, the Pakistan interior minister said that several terrorists who are clad in police uniforms are held.
He added that the terrorists wanted to destabilise Pakistan and it is a well planned attack. While Malik said the attack bore resemblance to the 26/11 Mumbai terror strikes, former Foreign Minister Gohar Ayub said it "is similar to the one on the Sri Lankan team".
So far no terrorist group came forward to claim the responsibility for the attacks, Pakistan government is pointing finger towards Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) and Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM).
