Government further hikes PSU employees' pay

New Delhi, Mar 30: A joyous moment for the PSU officers. The Government has decided to give a further hike in salary and allowances to around four lakh officers of central public sector enterprises, over and above the hikes announced last year.

At a cabinet meeting presided by Prime Minister, Manmohan Singh, the decision to improve the salary structure of officers at board level and below, along with supervisory staff was taken.

The pay packages will also include increase in house rent allowance and retirement benefits.

The hikes are based on the recommendations of the committee of ministers headed by Home Minister P Chidambaram.
