In what could be called as a deadly terrorist attack resembling Mumbai terrorists attacks, around 8 to 10 heavily armed terrorists attacked a police training centre in Lahore killing more than 15 people and injuring 30 others.
Reports claim that more than eight explosions were heard on Monday, Mar 30 morning at 7 am when the morning marching practice was on in the Police training centre.
Terrorists have also taken around 800 cops under hostage and heavy firing between police and terrorists are taking place.
Army personnel have been called in to the police training centre where the firing is going on. The attackers were wearing police uniforms, reports suggested. They were armed with lobbed hand grenades, bombs and guns.
Lahore police chief said that almost 800 police personnel are trapped inside the school. Rescue teams which arrived on the spot could not enter the training school, Geo News reported.
The training facility is located outside Lahore at a place
called Manawan. About 850 trainee policemen were present at the
venue. The elite anti-terrorism squad, rushed to the centre and air
surveillance has been ordered around the camp.
