US declares $5 million reward for Baitullah Mehsud
Washington, Mar 26: A reward of $5 million was announced by the United States to anyone revealing the whereabouts of Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) chief Baitullah Mehsud.
US State Department statement also said that a similar bounty has been put on the senior leader of the Haqqani group, Sirajuddin Haqqani, and a million dollar reward on high ranking al-Qaeda leader Abu Yahya al-Libi.
In another significant event, US President Barack Obama expressed his concern over increasing insurgency in Afghanistan, and discussed ways to improve co-ordination between the US military and troops of other countries in the region during a meeting with NATO Secretary General Jaap de Hoop Scheffer.
