Jaipur stall has special betel leaf

Jaipur, Mar 25 (ANI): A special betel leaf or 'paan' has been lured the food lovers by its delectable taste in Jaipur.

Set up by paan sellers from Saharnpur, the stall attracted people by droves at a fair and floored them by its special paan made from 120 varieties of spices.

Cardamoms, cloves, and aniseed, are some of the ingredients that go into making this paan different from a normal paan and a hit amongst the foodies.

"This paan is special because it has 120 types of spices in it. It just dissolves in the mouth unlike the normal paan," said Syed Mohammed Shadiq, a paan stall owner.

The makers of this special paan boast of it being the one of its kind in the entire country.

The paan sure left its sweet taste in the customer's mouth, which lingered on as reminder of the special taste of the paan.

"The paan is very good. It felt nice to eat it. The spices gave a very good taste to it and it has freshened up my mouth," said Preeti Gupta, a customer.

The 120 spices added to it made it different from a normal paan and left the customers with an experience to remember.

"The paan is very tasty. They have put 120 spices in it. I haven't eaten such a paan so far," said Upasana, another customer.

Eating paan is a South Asian tradition, which consists of chewing betel leaf with areca nut.

Paan is chewed by people as palate cleanser and a breath freshner. It is also offered to guests and visitors as sign of hospitality. By Lokendra Singh (ANI)
