BJP backs Varun, disregards EC's advice
New Delhi, Mar 23: The Election Commission's (EC) verdict on Varun Gandhi is out. EC found him guilty of breaching the model code of conduct.
Now the big question is will the BJP back Varun Gandhi? BJP is expected to take a decision on the Varun Gandhi in its Central Election Committee (CEC) meeting on Monday, Mar 23.
However, the party had so far refrained from giving its proper reaction to the EC order which had indicted Varun for his anti-Muslim speeches. EC also had recommended BJP not to field him as a candidate in the Lok Sabha polls.

The party also maintains that EC's decision on Varun Gandhi is a result of the strained ties between Sonia and Maneka Gandhi.
He also said that EC cannot decided party's candidate and he said that Varun Gandhi will be BJP's candidate.
