Washington, Mar 21 (ANI): American talk show host Oprah Winfrey has revealed that her pet dog Sadie, a cocker spaniel puppy, who is suffering from the Parvo virus, is still "hanging in there".
Winfrey, 55, had adopted Sadie two weeks ago, and she revealed that the pup's littermate had died within a week from the Parvo virus.
"I went through it all," People magazine quoted her as saying, as she described the symptoms of Parvo.
"You can't get it. If you could get it, I would have it," she added.
Sadie appeared via a videoconference with veterinarian Dr. Alexis Newman of the Arboretum Animal Hospital in Downers Grove, Ill, and he said that the dog had recovered about 80 percent after being close to death twice.
"We had some ... nights where we thought she might not make it," Winfrey said of the ordeal.
Winfrey further said that Sadie was being kept in isolation, and even her toys would have to be burnt. (ANI)
