Hyderabad, Mar 20 (ANI): The Andhra Pradesh Government on Friday forwarded the names of three Police officers to the Election Commission for it to name the State's new Director General of Police (DGP).
The names were forwarded after the Election Commission had ordered the transfer of current DGP S. S. P. Yadav for praising Chief Minister Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy during an official tour.
Opposition parties in Andhra Pradesh levelled serious allegations against Yadav, including violation of the Model Code of Conduct.
According to officials, the State Government has recommended the names of K. R. Nandan, Chairman of the Andhra Pradesh Police Housing Corporation, A. K. Mohanty, Chairman of the Andhra Pradesh Road Safety Authority and P. Gautam Kumar, Director General of the Andhra Pradesh Special Police Battalion.
