'Daughter' Uma Bharati meets 'father' Advani
New Delhi, Mar 19 (ANI): Bharatiya Janshakti Party Chief Uma Bharati on Thursday met the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) prime ministerial candidate L. K. Advani on Thursday, and said it was like a daughter going back to her fathers' home.
"It is like the homecoming of a daughter to a father. I don't intend to come back to the BJP, as I am happy with my party," Bharati said after meeting Advani at his residence here.
She stated that her party did not have adequate funds for contesting the Lok Sabha elections.
Bharati, however, emphasized that she would support Advani as Prime Minister for his involvement in various movements.
"We decided not to fight the elections, so we had to support somebody. He is the person who has been involved in the Tiranga Andolan, in the Ayodhya movement, in the Jammu and Kashmir movement, so I will support him only as the prime ministerial candidate," she said.
The former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister was suspended from the party in 2004 and then expelled in 2005 when she revolted against the appointment of Shivraj Singh Chauhan as Chief Minister. (ANI)
