New Delhi, Mar 18: Defying the 'gag order' issued by his party Bharatiya Janata Party, Varun Gandhi addressed the media and said that he is not apologetic and did not make any communal speech.

I am proud of being a Hindu, said Varun Gandhi who tried to justify his speech saying that neither the voice nor the words in the CD were his and it is a doctored one. He said that his speech in his constituency, Pilibhit is to assure the insecure Hindus there who are victims of violence and communal hatred.

Varun said, "I am a Gandhian, Hindu and India equally and I am proud of my faith and not apologetic." He added that he is a victim of political conspiracy and efforts are made by vicious hands to portray him as anti-India. He urged the nation to stand by him.
