India to open full-service consulate in Atlanta
Atlanta, Mar 15: Government of India have decided to open a full-service consulate in Atlanta keeping in view the needs of growing Indian population in the city. Atlanta which is emerging as a business hub has an estimated population of about 80,000 Indians.
"Atlanta is a city that has a very dynamic profile," said Sanjiv Arora, Indian Consul General in Houston. "Setting up a new office in Atlanta would be very useful." This initiative by the Indian government is likely to boost Atlanta and Georgia's economy. However the officials declined to comment on venue details and the opening date of the consulate. No Consul General for the Atlanta consulate is named yet.
