PCB lodges complaint with ICC over Broad's 'sitting duck' statement

Lahore, Mar.10 (ANI): Fuming over the statement of match referee Chris Broad on the inadequate security arrangements during the terror attack on the Sri Lankan cricket team in Lahore, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has now lodged a complaint with the International Cricket Council (ICC).

Talking to reporters here, a PCB spokesperson said the board has filed an official complaint over Broad's comments.

"Broad's comments are totally unfair and we have sent a letter to the ICC in which we have lodged a strong protest," The Daily Times quoted the spokesman, as saying.

He said Broad's comment were nowhere near reality, and it was also a violation of ICC's code of conduct.

"First, his comments were totally fabricated. And second, he cannot speak publicly under the ICC's code of conduct," the spokesman added.

Earlier, Broad, who was traveling in a minivan with other match officials behind the bus carrying the Lankan players, had strongly charged the Pakistani security officials of not ensuring their safety during the attack.

"There was not a sign of a policeman anywhere. They had clearly left the scene and left us to be sitting ducks," Broad had said. (ANI)
