Painting exhibition on Dravidian women in Bangalore
Bangalore, Mar 10 (ANI): An exhibition of paintings on Dravidian women drew hordes of visitors in Bangalore on Monday.
The paintings by artiste Elayaraja on the women from the rustic environs of South India brought forth the different facets of a woman in the 22 oil works exhibited at the Abstract Art Gallery here.
The life like paintings captured the natural beauty of the women involved in different household activities. The starlit sky also provided an apt setting for these paintings exhibited in an open gallery area.
Elayaraja is hailed by art lovers for his traditional and realistic style.
"He is an artiste who follows the traditional style in these modern times. He is a realistic artiste who does a lot of portraitures and so on," said Oez Yassin, Owner, Abstract Art Gallery.
The visitors admired the paintings for their beauty and attractiveness."They are absolutely beautiful. He has captured the Tamilian face absolutely to the core, the Dravidian face. Especially the typical woman in the rural areas and caught them in various moods and various activities," said Vani Ganapathy, Dancer.
The paintings have been inspired from real life characters as the artiste first photographed these women before depicting them on canvas.By Yashpal Sharma(ANI)
