Oz woman raped by student in Gokarna of Karnataka

Bangalore, Mar 9: An Australian tourist named Gibbs Laurenzine (28) was allegedly raped by a 22 year old college student in the Paradise beach of Gokarna in Karnataka. Bsavaraj Sharana, the accused was detained by the police for further investigation.

The shameful incident occurred in a sea-side resort where Gibbs was staying with her husband Bernard Alexander. Bsavaraj Sharana entered the cottage of Gibbs at about 1 am on Sunday, Mar 8 and raped her without her knowledge that she was engaged in sex with a man other than her husband. In the FIR filed, the victim claims that she opened the door thinking it was her husband and then Sharana forced himself on her.

Sharana is an engineering student doing his BE from PESIT engineering college in Bangalore. He hails from Raichur and is remanded to the police custody. Meanwhile Gibbs and her husband have left the state.
