Hiddink orders Cole to end his nightlife escapades

London, Mar 7 (ANI): Chelsea coach Guus Hiddink has ordered Ashley Cole to end his nightlife escapades, admitting that he was "amazed" to have to lay down the law to such an experienced player.

Cole will be fined two weeks' wages - about 164,000 pounds. Cole and and club skipper John Terry were left under no illusions by Hiddink that their late-night adventures will not be tolerated.

England full-back Cole will still figure in today's FA Cup sixth-round clash at Coventry, but only because deputy Paulo Ferreira is injured.

Cole and Terry were given a blistering dressing down on Friday by Hiddink, who also rebuked Michael Mancienne.

The trio were out in the early hours of Thursday when Cole was arrested after abusing police officers as he left a South Kensington nightclub. He was fined and released at 5.37 a.m., after three hours' cooling off at Chelsea police station. iddink confessed he was stunned that two such experienced England players like Cole and Terry, both at the centre of embarrassing late-night episodes in the past, had blundered once more.

"I've spoken firmly with Ashley," said Hiddink. "There are rules. I am disappointed. It's simple; you must not repeat that kind of behaviour.

"He's been involved in some other harassments. Everyone should know where their responsibility is. Physically he is fine to play. Mentally he was a little bit out of order - I don't know how comfortable a bed is in a police cell, so I'm not sure if he rested well or not.

"I cannot and will not control their private lives. They must be intelligent people to have success at a big club. I am not a police officer, nor am I a father figure," Hiddink said. (ANI)
