Breast cancer work earns Jane McGrath posthumous honour

By Super Admin

Melbourne, Mar 5 (ANI): Australian cricketer Glenn McGrath's wife Jane will be posthumously honoured for her contribution in raising awareness of breast cancer.

Jane, who lost her own battle with cancer in June last year, will be honoured on international Women's Day on March 8.

She and husband Glenn co-founded the McGrath Foundation to raise money for breast cancer nurses and to raise awareness about the disease in 2002.

New South Wales Premier Nathan Rees announced in the parliament that Jane would receive the first Special Recognition Award.

"Jane's courage and determination, as well as her fundraising efforts for breast cancer sufferers through the establishment of the McGrath Foundation, are worthy of special recognition," News.com.au quoted Rees as saying.

"All of us have been inspired by Jane's example, all of us were saddened by her death last year," Rees added. (ANI)
