Washington, Mar 04 (ANI): High School Musical 4 is in the making, but sadly it would not be featuring the original actors, including Zac Efron, Corbin Bleu and Vanessa Hudgens, as it will have a new cast this time.
The flick will involves a classic love triangle set against the cross-town school rivalry between the East High Wildcats and the West High Knights.
"The High School Musical trilogy introduced a new generation to the celebrated genre of movie musicals. In crafting this next iteration, we've challenged the entire creative team to raise the bar again-and create something truly worthy of this extraordinary global phenomenon," Us Weekly quoted Gary Marsh, president of Disney Channels Worldwide, as saying.
Peter Barsocchini, who wrote each of the first three flicks in the franchise, will write the fourth flick too.
The filming for the movie will begin later this year.
Meanwhile, Disney's Emmy Award-winning High School Musical premiered in January 2006 on Disney Channel in the U.S., and the sequel currently ranks as the No. 1 basic cable telecast of all time. (ANI)
