Goody's kith and kin organise charity walk to raise money for cancer fight

London, Feb 25 (ANI): Family and friends of cancer-stricken Jade Goody are organising a massive walk to raise money to fight the deadly disease.

More than 500 people have already signed up for the event, which will take place on February 28.

Big Brother star's new hubby Jack Tweed will also take part if Jade is well enough for him to leave her. His siblings have also pledged support.

Organiser and friend Jerri Lee, 24, said Walk for Jade took off when she posted details on Facebook.

"All of her mates just want to help as much as we can," the Mirror quoted her as saying.

"The walk is about her, her family and fighting cancer. I told her about it at the wedding and she was absolutely thrilled.

"It really touched her heart. We are all doing whatever we can to support her and give her a boost," she added.

Co-organiser Jane Collins also said that they aim to raise awareness of the dangers of cancer.

"Jade has made women more aware of how important it is to get screened for cervical cancer," Collins said.

Money raised will go to a cancer charity of Jade's choice. The event will start at Femme Fatale, Jade's beauty salon in Loughton, and end in High Beach, Essex. (ANI)
