IIM-Calcutta hikes fees to Rs 7 lakh

Kolkata, Feb 21: Indian Institute of Management Calcutta has hiked fee charges to Rs 7 lakh for its post graduate management programmes for the academic session 2008-10.

The troubled times of recession has brought some more bad news for students as the Indian Institute of Management-Calcutta with the hike in the fee structure.

The fee for the class of 2008-10 has been formally fixed at Rs seven lakh, which means existing first-year students have to add another Rs four lakh each to the Rs three lakh they had paid at the time of admission.

The board of governors at its meeting on February 26 decided to raise the fee from Rs 4 lakh to Rs 7 lakh for the session 2008-10, an IIM-C spokesman said.

IIM-Ahmedabad had raised the fee to Rs 11.5 lakh, IIM-Bangalore had fixed the fees at Rs 8 lakh.
