Jayalalithaa woos Congress
Chennai, Feb 20: All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) is all set to woo Congress. Congress must break away its ally from the Dravida Munnettra Kazhagam (DMK), AIADMK chief Jayalalithaa stated.
AIADMK will be the last hope of all parties as DMK will lose in the forthcoming General Elections, she added.
She asked Congress to break away from the DMK and join the AIADMK-led alliance in Tamil Nadu. Jayalalithaa was speaking at the wedding of 61 party activists in Chennai on Thursday, Feb 19.
The AIADMK chief also hinted that her party had very cordial relations with the Congress when Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi were in power.
"The DMK is caught in a quicksand. Nobody can help it out. Those who want to help it will also be caught in the quicksand and the Congress should come out of web of the DMK," she said.
AIADMK has tie ups with Communist Party of India-Marxist and Communist Party of India for the Lok Sabha elections. Presently DMK is under fire due to Sri Lankan Tamil crisis.
