New Delhi, Feb 18: Union Minister of State for External Affairs Anand Sharma on Wednesday, Feb 18 said that the government is keeping a strict vigil on the electronic media following the preparation of regulatory guidelines by the private broadcasters.
The guidelines were prepared by the National Broadcasting Association after the live coverage of Mumbai terror attacks in Nov last year.
Replying supplementaries in Lok Sabha, Sharma said that besides preparation of guidelines by all stakeholders, a committee has already been constituted.
He made it clear that government has no intention to curb the freedom of media.
