Pak admits FBI investigating Solecki's abduction case
Lahore, Feb.16 (ANI): The investigation into the kidnapping of a United Nations (UN) official is being carried out by the US Federal Bureau of Investigation, Chief Minister of Balochistan Aslam Raisani has admitted.
Raisani confirmed that the special FBI team is present in the province, and probing all aspects behind kidnapping of the United Nations High Commission for Refugees (UNHCR) head John Solecki.
According to The Daily Times, efforts are on to ensure the safe recovery of the official.
Raisani said the case would be solved within a few days as the investigative team has arrested four persons in connection with Solecki's kidnapping.
Solecki was abducted from Quetta on February 2, following an ambush in which his driver was killed.
A relatively unheard of militant outfit, the Baluchistan Liberation United Front (BLUF), had taken responsibility for the kidnapping. (ANI)
